Who is he ??

Children running everywhere, squealing shreiking voices.... some scared, some crying ... but none of them understand who the fat guy with a huge unshapely belly is ! His moustache and beard is longer than anybody's they can remember and its totally white, but he is dark skinned !! He's walking towards them with a huge bag across his shoulders and a wierd grin on his face. The closer he comes, the farther they move away. They're trying to run, but they dont know which way to go cos the place has a huge fence on all four sides and there are people guarding the gate!!! They're all crying for their parents to come and take them, but the parents are helpless...They watch the kids reaching out for them but they cant come inside the fence and they stand outside helpless....

The man finally sits at the centre of the ground and keeps his bag down. Slowly, ever so slowly, he starts removing things from the bag...the children finally quiten as they wonder wats in the bag and when they do, they hesistantly move towards him... By now the man is surrounded by kids on all the sides. Slowly, ever so slowly he takes one of the packets on the ground and extends it to one of the kid. the kid refuses to take it, meanwhile another kid snatches it from his hand. One by one, all the kids have a packet in their hands and the man shouts hoarsely "Merry Christmas Children !!!!... "

That was my first memory after birth, of being scared by seeing our peon dressed as Santa and trying to run towards my parents who were standing outside the school compound !!! :0) I was in kindergarten then... had never known who santa was??

What would you do ??

The past two weeks, ive been noticing that one of my colleagues, has been sneakin out of office within 1-2 hrs after coming in or for most days not turning up at all...!! Its like come in to office around 9.00 in the morning and leave by 10-10.30. The thing that bothers me most is, even i wanna do tht at times but dont have the guts to do it. Is tht wat courage is, or is it pure cheating? Cheating your company, your team members, your superiors... I agree, if you are not working on anything urgent or pressing, its very likely that you would want to sneak out, but then the company is still paying you for working, whether u have work or not is an entirely different matter...!!! But its irritating for people like me, cos as much as i wish to do the same, i know i will never do that...

When i tried doing this once, after contemplating this matter for over a week, i managed to land up rite in front of my superiors !! maybe, its the loud thumping of my heart or the "i didnt do anything..." look on my face that attracts them. My conscience would make me feel so guilty and it would be written all over my face,but this colleague of mine, "well cool as a cucumber" (tht's a infamous sidhu dialogue..). I know of another friend of mine, who was so frustrated about not having any work to do, but he still hung around in office, although taking numerous coffee, TT breaks and waiting for his seniors to give him some work. Well tht's two sides of the coin.
